Christmas 2018

JOY TO THE WORLD!

Warm holiday greetings from our house to yours.

We hope 2018 has been good to you. It’s been a “circle of life” year for us, with the joyous arrival of our new grandson Arthur, and a somber farewell to Donald’s stepfather Bud.

Having a new baby in the family reminds us how astounding is the miracle of Christmas—that the Creator of the universe clothed himself in flesh and entered our world as a helpless child.

Arthur Edward Rohn Lee was born February 3, 2018. One of his first official acts was to sleep through his newborn photo-shoot.  Big sister Alice looked on with concern while proud parents Amanda and Timothy admired his snoozing countenance.

Now almost a year old, Arthur is growing into a great little buddy for his sister.

Bud and Lizzie, Christmas 2017

As 2018 draws to a close, we honor the  memory of Donald’s stepfather, Bud Nordstog, who passed away in April, at age 97. Here’s his picture from last Christmas, celebrating with his granddaughter Lizzie.

Below is a picture from Easter, shortly before his passing. He was still having fun, despite slowing down a bit.  Bud remained independent to the end.

In other family news:

Our daughter Bethany is an intrepid urban artist. Neither snow, nor rain nor heat stays her from her appointed rounds as a plein air painter, nor from her classes at the Florence Academy of Art in Jersey City, nor from bus trips to Washington DC to dote upon her niece and nephew.

Our son Andrew made 2018 his year to give priority to family and friends. Here are some “high” moments with his girlfriend Hannah and his Grandma Dorothy:

Thanks for viewing our photo album. May your new year be filled with smiles and beautiful sunsets.

Whatever the next twelve months may bring, let’s all remember to hold on to our sense of humor!
